Milan Design Week  is finished but ECLIPSE bowl is still displayed in the showroom!

We will be launching our brand “More Than One” in the coming Milan Design Week 2014.
In Herman Miller showroom on Corso Garibaldi, we will showcase ECLIPSE fruit bowls. In Fantoni (Bluemilano)’s showroom on Via Santa Sofia, both ECLIPSE and KOSMOS will be displayed in their showroom window.

We received these photos from our supplier. Sorry for the fuzzy photos, but slots are modified after many trials. We do not know why but the technician who laser cut this trial also cut the bottom of the bowl. A bowl can’t be a bowl without it!
Of course, our bowls always come with the bottom of the bowl…

It was a long journey to find a right combination of material thickness, slot’s height and length …etc. As metal moves as we cut into the shape, it was different between what we saw on the drawing and the prototype following the drawing. The only way to find the right combination was to try making many times.

As part of Milan Design Week 2012, ECLIPSE bowls were exhibited in Discovering – Temporary Museum for New Design at Superstudio Più in the heart Via Tortona. We also presented the multifunctional cardboard system PYRAGO and the glass top table T.

ECLIPSE received RED DOT Design Concept.

It was one of the winner from 3,023 projects applied from 55 countries.  ECLIPSE was selected for an innovative concept, novel function and visually exciting form.

More Than One’s first product ECLIPSE was launched in two venues during Milan Furniture Fair in 2009. The fashin brand ANTEPRIMA’s flaship shop on Corso Como in Milan kindly gave us an opportunity to showcase the ECLIPSE bowl together with other prototypes by Sakura Adachi.  more

More Than One’s first product ECLIPSE was launched in two venues during Milan Furniture Fair in 2009. The other venue was SaloneSatellite where many talented young designers present their ideas and prototypes. Sakura exhibited seven new and prototypes  including ECLIPSE. more

ECLIPSE’s first prototype was made in outskirts of Tokyo. We collaborated with a prototype maker discussing details in order to interlock the two bowls well. The design requires accuracy in cutting the slots and it was the most difficult part to make it functional.
